Open Positions

Cleaning/Maintenance

Fitness First is hiring for a part time custodial team member. This position is responsible for the general housekeeping of the club with particular attention to deep cleaning of the locker rooms, halls, racquetball courts, traffic areas and other areas as necessary. Duties include but are not limited to vacuuming, dusting, floor sweeping and mopping, cleaning mirrors and windows, washing out trash cans, scrubbing tiles, walls and showers, cleaning bathrooms, additional housekeeping as needed. The schedule for this position is three evenings each week, approximately 3 hours each shift.

Membership Sales Advisor/Member Services

We are looking for part-time and full-time, enthusiastic, personable, customer service-oriented professionals to join our team as Membership Sales Advisor/Member Services. The person in this position plays a key role in the overall success of the club by selling new memberships and providing legendary service to all Fitness First members and guests. The position involves membership sales activities, monitoring the front desk area which includes controlling member and non-member access to the club, taking phone calls, making appointments and reservations, answering questions about membership, club programs and policies, assists with club maintenance and works cooperatively with co-workers to achieve Center goals and deliver exemplary customer service.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Requirements

The ideal candidate has the following experience and qualities:

  • Previous sales experience
  • A passion for health and wellness and the ability to influence people in overcoming their obstacles to exercising, joining a fitness club and in making lifestyle changes
  • Enjoys building relationships-comfortable on the phone
  • Commitment to providing top notch customer service and experience in working in a fast-paced customer service role
  • Computer-savvy
  • Team player who approaches challenges in a creative and positive manner
  • Organized, flexible and resourceful
  • History of conflict resolution, active listening and written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to execute multiple tasks at once and remain resilient in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience within the fitness, health and wellness industry preferred
  • CPR/AED Certified
  • Availability early mornings, nights and weekends

Personal Trainer

We are looking for part-time and full-time, enthusiastic, personable, customer service-oriented professionals to join our team as a Personal Trainer. The person in this position plays a key role in the overall success of the club by selling personal training and providing legendary service to all Fitness First members and guests. Personal Trainers focus on providing personalized attention, professional instruction and exercise programming to Fitness First members. Working individually or in small groups, Trainers strive to maximize the member’s health, fitness and wellness goals while providing the highest level of customer safety, appropriate training practices and motivation. Personal Trainers report to the Fitness Director to develop their business plan and meet regularly for ongoing mentoring to increase client participation and retention. In addition, Personal Trainers are responsible for ensuring the fitness equipment is safe and maintained and fitness equipment is put away in an organized manner. The Personal Trainer is required to engage and interact with members during non-training times. The Personal Trainer conducts Orientations and Second Workouts with new members in order to establish personalized exercise programs that include progression and advancement. In addition, the Trainer should be motivated to reach personal and club training goals as set by the Fitness Director. The Personal Trainer works cooperatively with co-workers to achieve Center goals and deliver exemplary customer service.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Requirements

The ideal candidate has the following experience and qualities:

  • Bachelors in related field or relevant education/experience
  • Current national personal training certification
    CPR/AED certification
  • Previous Personal Training and sales experience
  • A natural ability to network and build up a personal training client base
  • A thorough understanding of exercise prescriptions and testing and ability to develop fitness programming that meets the individual needs of clients
  • Personal training know-how with a track record of promoting and selling fitness programs and building and maintaining a personal training clientele
  • Commitment to providing top notch customer service and some experience working in a fast paced customer service role
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
